Below are descriptions and registration information for the
Crafting Your Life After 55 workshop and The Starting or Continuing the Artist Way Journey for Women 55+ class.
Crafting Your Life After 55
The workshop meets for two consecutive Saturdays from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm at
Capitola Recreation.
This workshop is for retiring/retired teachers, artists, nurses, engineers, and inquisitive people from all walks of life who would like to bring joy and aliveness into their retirement lives.
In this workshop you will:
-
Explore creative ways to recognize and align with your life purpose after retirement
-
Let your imagination help guide you through seven excursions to explore your dreams,
gift & talents, and natural temperament -
Discover the top ten endeavors happy retirees pursue (like learning, health & fitness, volunteering)
-
With you findings, start to create a diversified life that is expressive of who you are now
rather than who you were -
Start cultivating a weekly schedule full of flow activities (where you lose track of time)
-
Form a self-led support group with other members of the workshop
You will return to your life with a fuller understanding of the gifts and challenges of this stage of life and with the tools you need to continue moving forward.
One workshop participant said, Great class...One of the best I've taken. A second said, Outstanding! Awesome! Inspiring! This class meets for nine Fridays from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon
at Capitola Recreation
Would you like support in creating a more meaningful life in retirement? Come join us for this exciting nine-week adventure. We will use the third book in Julia Cameron's trilogy called Walking in This World as our guide. (Julia wrote the international bestselling book called The Artist's Way.) Each week we will gather and share about that week's chapters (one or two each week), exercises, and artist date. Walking in This World is for anyone who would like to use their imagination and creativity to enhance their retirement life. All you need is openness, curiosity, and a willingness to explore the daily journaling and weekly artist date. Please bring a copy of the book to our first class meeting.
